Downtown Denver Rink at Skyline Park Opens for 2022-2023 Season
Opening Day Slated for Nov. 21 at 3:00 p.m.

DENVER (November 21, 2022) – The Downtown Denver Partnership is proud to bring to the community the eleventh season of the Downtown Denver Rink presented by Southwest Airlines, open daily for free skating Nov. 21, 2022 through Feb. 14, 2023. A Winter in the City staple in Skyline Park at 16th and Arapahoe Streets, the Downtown Denver Rink is a showcase of the Partnership’s commitment to bring fun, free, and family-friendly activities to downtown’s parks and public spaces.

The Rink supports strategies in the 2007 Downtown Area Plan, the long-term strategy for downtown, including activating Skyline Park as a central gathering place for the downtown community, as well as creating an outdoor downtown that provides residents, workers, and visitors to gather and play to foster a balance between urban life and the outdoors.

“Each year, thousands of residents, visitors and employees look forward to experiencing the Downtown Denver Rink,” said Sharon Alton, Sr. Vice President of Downtown Experience for the Downtown Denver Partnership. “The Rink is a long-time favorite tradition for many and we’re proud to be bringing it back to further enhance the magic of downtown during the winter season.”

The season opening celebration will kick off this holiday season and the Partnership’s annual Winter in the City festivities, which includes the live 9NEWS Parade of Lights on Dec. 4 at 6:00 p.m., the stationary Parade throughout December, VisitDenver’s Mile High Tree, the Christkindl Market, promotions from downtown businesses, and more.

“One of the best ways to build a resilient economy is to create a place that attracts people and companies – and keeps them here – and vibrant parks and public spaces, complete with activations like the Rink, are a core component of that strategy,” said Alton.

Throughout the season, skating is free, with skate rentals available for $9 for kids 12 and under and $11 for those 13 and over. Stay tuned for more information as we announce upcoming special events and activities at the Rink all season long. Complete details on operating hours, special events, private parties and more are available at DowntownDenverRink.com.

The Downtown Denver Rink is produced in partnership with Denver Parks and Recreation and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District.
